Head office is in Black Diamond, AB, Canada Lesson 1) Business Plan a) Decide to make a business plan The first and most important step in monetizing your site is a business plan. Without a definite plan in place, you don't know which get-rich-quick schemes to reject, and you just waste a lot of time and money darting off into different directions. You might still fall for some of those schemes, but a firm plan in front of you will reduce the time and money waste. If you are scared off by the threat of having to make a business plan, you can pay somebody to make a business plan for you, or to at least help you and brain storm with you. Without a business plan, you WILL fail in business, and you might as well focus on becoming a good employee. There are a few hundred standard excuses people have for not having a business plan. The most common one, surprisingly, is not that they don't know how to make one, but that they don't want to be forced to follow a rigid structure. That tells me right away that they don't understand what making and using a business plan is all about. A business plan is like a route map for a trip. You select a destination, then fill in the best route between where you are and where you want to get to. b) Then you keep track of your progress, change the route where required because of obstacles, detours or shortcuts, but always aim in the diretion of your goal. Without tracking your progress on your route map, the map is useless. You don't know whether you are too far North or too far South, and which way you should be heading. Only when you know where you are, and where you want to get to, can you make intelligent choices instead of just bumbling around. Details about how to make a proper business plan are in a separate e-book. Yes, you WILL need to get some basic tools together. You don't need expensive magic like you have been buying and putting on the shelf, because it didn't work. All you need is a plan and basic tools. If you are interested in making your writing more effective, check Ettiquette To Get Read. It is a very worthwhile ebook, to study and keep as your secret weapon. Don't worry, it's not filled with fluff and hype, but condensed like a college cheat sheet. This book is a tool for you, not a thinly disguised attempt to sell other items to you.
